Daniel Broby has enjoyed a successful career in both academia and practice. As Director of the Centre for Financial Regulation and Innovation, his research into Financial Technology and capital markets has important practical applications.

Complementing his academic career, he worked in a number of Senior Executive positions in the Fund Management Industry. These including Chief Executive, Chief Investment Officer, and Chief Portfolio Manager. His practical skill set includes financial modelling, accounting analytics, investment, index and portfolio construction.

Daniel is focusing his research on new and innovative areas in Financial Technology (FinTech). In particular, he is conducting experiments using blockchain and distributed ledgers in order to demonstrate their speed, efficiency and security. Gary McKay

Gary is the co-founder and managing director of APPII, a blockchain start up revolutionising CV verification and employee background checking. APPII was founded in early 2016 and is based in London.

He has more than 20 years’ experience across many different industries including financial services, media, staffing and recruiting, and management consulting. All of his roles have centred around using his technology experience and knowledge to transform businesses and disrupt business models.

Born in Scotland, Gary studied Building Surveying at the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture before moving to Australia where he lived and worked for just over 18 years. Whilst in Australia, he studied at the UNSW Business School in Sydney and was awarded a Master of Business and Technology.

Graeme is a co-founder and the business development director of Agile Energy, a renewable energy project development company who are in the process of delivering a Green Energy Park powered by Energy-from-Waste near Inverurie, Aberdeenshire.

Agile was founded in 2012 and are aiming to have the Inverurie Energy Park live by early 2022.
He has more than 25 years’ experience as an entrepreneur within the IT and energy industries and is passionate about involving the local community in shared ownership to deliver a sustainable model which is in turn commercially attractive for complimentary businesses to locate in the park.

Alf leads a small team in a renewable energy business currently focussed on developing an Energy Park near Inverurie in Aberdeenshire. He has more than 40 years’ international experience in the energy, utilities and oil & gas sectors onshore and offshore. He has been responsible for a number of world first engineering and project development projects and brings a unique blend of knowledge and experience to the development of sustainable energy projects.
